LEAGUE FINALS
From league finals, the top 3 teams from each league advance to the CIF Southern Section Prelims.
The race takes place at Central Park in HB
CIF PRELIMS
Ocean View competes in D4.
From CIF Southern Section Prelims, the top 16 teams advance to CIF Finals.
If there are 4 heats, the top 4 teams advance
If there are 3 heats, the top 5 teams advance + the next fastest team time
If there are 2 heats, the top 8 teams advance
The race takes place at Mt. Sac Community College in Walnut
CIF FINALS
From the 16 teams competing at CIF Southern Section Finals, the top 7 teams from each division advance to the California State Finals
The race takes place at Mt. Sac Community College in Walnut
STATE FINALS
The California State Finals are comprised of the top 25 teams from all the different sections in California
The race takes place at Woodward Park in Fresno
To Advance As An Individual
LEAGUE FINALS
Any athlete that finishes in the TOP TEN at league finals that is not part of a qualifying team advances to CIF Prelims.
CIF PRELIMS
Depends on the number of heats at Prelims
4 Qualifying Heats
Must finish in the Top 6
3 Qualifying Heats
Must finish in the Top 8
2 Qualifying Heats
Must Finish in the Top 12
CIF FINALS
A maximum of five Individuals finishers who are not members of qualifying teams and who finish in the TOP 20 places in their respective divisions, will also advance to the State Finals
STATE FINALS
The California State Finals are comprised of the top 25 teams from all the different sections in California
The race takes place at Woodward Park in Fresno
